Week 17
Kind of funny how different the belly looks in different things :-) Hard to believe we're getting so close to half way there! Felt great this week - up about 5 pounds total. Had some coupon thing for Destination Maternity so James went with me this afternoon and I got 2 cute dresses, a tank top and some workout pants. People, pregnancy workout pants are cuh-razy. I'll have to figure out a way to post the genius design, but basically they fit at the normal place in the back (maybe a little higher) but they are cut waaay low in the front to sit under the giant belly. Brilliant! Only 9 days til our gender appointment and my excitement is growing so much every day. I just can't WAIT to know! And I equally can't wait to see baby D again. Almost time to get serious about picking out baby stuff - I didn't get any responses last time but I feel like that might have been due to the difficult hoops you had to go through to post a comment. I've fixed that now. Soooo, I need opinions on newborn vs. convertible car seats and separate car seat and stroller vs. strollers/car seat in one. Speak up! ... and thank you :)

I hope you have a boy... so I have somebody to buy a little motorcycle for....
ReplyDeleteOk...PISSED bc my REALLY long post just disappeared so let me try this again....
ReplyDeleteBefore Christalina was born we were dead set on purchasing the top rated convertible seat for safety because it just seemed logical.
However, we had a travel system so when she was born we decided to give it a try first. It made it so much easier than if we would have had a convertible. When getting her in and out of the car all we had to do was pop the seat in and out of the base. If we would have used the convertible from the beginning we would have had to transfer her from the convertible to the carrier every time we got her out of the car unless we wanted to carry her the whole time. It was also nice because if she was sleeping we really didn't disturb her. Also, we could just pop the carrier onto the stroller and move along.
I would say though, if you are going to be sling parents I don't think it would make a big difference because you will be moving him/her out of the seat anyways.
Once she out grew the carrier we upgraded and did buy the convertible which is great.
If we are able to get pregnant again in the future I will go right back to the travel system seat unless I become a sling mommy the 2nd time around. :-)
I am counting down the days until I can start shopping for boy/girl baby D!!! AHHHHHH I am soooooooooooo excited!! Love you both very much!
P.S. I LOVE that tank shirt in the pic! It is super cute!
